Multiple farming and well established organic farming
Dhaka
Mr. Matinur Rahman
Matinurs Farm is a large big home-centered organic farm at Boalmari, Faridpur. It is just near the largest Padma Bridge, only three hours journey from Dhaka. Other than homestead farming, it is producing organic vegetables, fruits, spices, rice, banana and jutefibre. Three large ponds with fishes; several milking cows, goats, chicken, ducks and pigeons are reared. The farm is very near to Faridpur city. The village has more than two hundred farmers who are farming at their homesteads which are very rich with multiple cropping cultures and all are organic. WWOOFers are enjoying the site, especially the mighty river Padma, the downstream of the great Ganges.
Tropical monsoon agricultural practices are done through out the year. Crops, cattle farming, fish farming all are in the homestead farm.
The wwoofers will have food with the host family and also the accommodations in the same house.
My hobby is farming, hiking and swimming facilities are available there in the near by river

My stay at Matinur's farm was too short! The farm is beautiful and really interesting and the family are very warm and welcoming. Matin went out of his way to give me a good experience even though the weather did not co-operate!
I visited at the end of September - everyone says the winter is best. Even so, in the two days I was there, I planted out some mango trees, had a tour of the farm and seed packaging unit, a tour of the town and we went on a fascinating marketing trip where Matin and his business partner talked to farmers about their latest onion seeds and we visited some seed shops. This was really interesting for me as I have worked as a market gardener and am still running a small land project in England.
I also enjoyed wonderful hospitality from Matin's mother and his brother who entertained me with lively conversations (Faahim is fluent in English and has lots of enthusiasm and a very lively mind) and food/fruit tastings while it was roasting hot outside or tipping down with rain.
I hope to visit again and stay longer next time...
